Pocket PC, XP, Office 2003

I had my pocket pc and outlook 2002 working fine. I then
purchased Office 2003 Home Edition. I did not delete
Outlook 2002. In fact I open my new Outlook 2003 and it
didn't like 2003 being there. I removed 2002, I removed
Office 2003, I reinstalled Office 2003 and reinstalled
activesync (newest version). Still doesn't work. Since I
put office 2003 on the computer with outlook 2002 (and
I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times, I've reset
the Pocket PC both soft and hard).

I think I need to uninstalled Office and ActiveSync and
then reinstall them. What additional steps can I take to
ensure every trace of Office is uninstalled. I'm thinking
it's something in the registry that causes my problem.

Basically, when I put the Pocket PC Phone Edition into the
cradle, the green activesync icon spins, it says
connecting (on both the Pocket PC and on the Computer),
but then it just stops and says not connected. No
partnerships exist.

My data is totally backed up, so I'm not afraid to try
anything.

Hi,

Any chance you are running a firewall software? These applications tend to
block the ports required for communication between the PPC and the computer.
You might need to give permission within the firewall settings so that
ActiveSync applications can use the necessary ports during synchronization.
