Hi all....Good News for everyone else....Bad News for me! I installed
ActiveSync 4.0 and, as Chris says, Microsoft have removed the Word Converter,
so we are restricted to PlainText, RTF (RichText) or PSW (Pocket Word)
formats. The Good News for everyone else is that MS Word (desktop) has a
built in Converter and can both Read and Write PSW files. This means the
Search functionality I needed works fine - in Word. The Bad News for me is
that my application won't read PSW files, so I'm still at first base in the
Search stakes. I can use RTF format for most things in my app, but I still
can't search on Text Strings as, as I said at the outset, the files sync'ed
from my Pocket PC are a mix of RTF and Hexadecimal. I now need to write my
own Converter so my app can Read/Write PSW files. Thanks Microsoft! And many
thanks to you Chris for your help. You obviously know your stuff.
