I also have a DIR-655 and it's an excellent router. I think you'll be pleased.
The ports are rather dynamic in nature in Messenger, so it's a tad more difficult to set up
QoS then your standard application. In honesty, at least for me, I experimented a bit using
QoS for Skype where you can set an exact IP and didn't really see much difference with it off
vs it on.
However, here are the port ranges; I'd be interested in hearing if you actually see a change:
