It is possible to have multiple mail icons on the desktop

I have 4 email accounts and I hate how I have to switch through them i
vista. I would like 4 different accounts like I did with XP to kee
things organized

Hello Goofball,

You might consider using the free Windows Live Mail or the newer
Windows Live Mail beta instead. It has a separate set of inboxes for
each email account.
