Power Management does not work

Dell XPS. Retail Vista Premium. Pwr Mgmt does nothing. Seems to set up fine.
Eg I set the monitor to turn off in 1 Hr, Disk in 2 hrs. It does nothing. Any
thoughts?

I have the same problem. Set Monitor to turn off in 10 minutes... Disk in 30
but nothing happens. Also, when I click on sleep (at bottom right on startup
screen) it sleeps for a minute or so, then wakes up.

Power Management work when the computer is idle
if it is not working it might be that some programs are running in
background which are not allowing power management to work
try disabling startup items using msconfig
in case it still does not work
give a try to the utility Turn Off Monitor at
http://www.rtsoftwares.com
