change by themselves! I have it to turn off monitor after 30 min and sleep
after 1 hr. I have no password on resume set and next thing I know it's back
to default on it's owm lol. Does anyone know why it's doing this it is very
annoying.

I have the same problem
I set the monitor to 2 hrs & save the changes. But after a while it reverts
back to the default setting of 20 minutes. Annoying, very annoying. Maybe if
enough people post about it MS will do something.

It appears that the system returning to its default sleep settings is
problem with the most recent Vista update

I have been taking care of a few people's computers recently, includin
my own, and found that all of them began having the same problem righ
after the Windows update was finished

Big surprise, another Vista problem.:eek

I'm going to try and uninstall the last update to see if it fixes th
problem. Best wishes

I have found that some computers, such as Dell, have secondary power
setups. Once you check your Windows Vista power settings, go to your
Control Panel and find your computer's proprietary video setup. For
instance, my Dell laptop has an Intel GMA Moblie driver that is actually
driving the power setup for my video. I didn't find this out for months
after the problem first occurred.

The Windows Vista will default to whatever your proprietary video
settings are. They will never lock in until you change the proprietary
settings too.

Not all computers have the Intel chip set for video, but I think the
others posting here just might.

Best wishes!
