I have a Sprint PPC6700 which comes with Windows Mobile 2005. I have
installed ActiveSync 4.1 on my WinXP SP2 laptop, and I am able to sync my
phone with the laptop no problem through the USB tether. When I try to sync
through Bluetooth, however, I get the message "To synchronize this device,
you must install ActiveSync 4.0 or higher on your computer.". Searching the
web, I have found at least three other references of other experiencing the
same problem although not connecting through Bluetooth, but through IR.
Anyone know a way around this problem? I remember there used to be some
registry hacks to make the devices think they are talking to alternate
versions of ActiveSync. I am wondering if I make the device think that it is
talking to ActiveSync 4.0 instead of 4.1 if synching will then work. Any
other ideas?
