.pps file extension

In Vista, when I open Control Panel, Default Programs, Associate a file type
or protocol with a program, when the screen loads, the file extension .pps is
not listed. Whenever I try to open a .pps file, I get the message "This file
does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.
Create an association in the Get Association Control Panel." It is obvious
this cannot be done since .pps is not listed. The only way I can open a .pps
file is to open the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer from the Program list and
search for the .pps file I want to view. How can I get the .pps extension to
be listed so that I can associate a program with it?

Right click on a .pps file, select Open With, select Choose Default Program,
browse to the Power Point executable. Make sure the Always use Select
Program... box is checked.
