I am using Vista Home Premium 32-Bit. I have not subscribed to Microsoft
Office. My problem lies with opening .pps files. It interrupts the process
by asking for a Product Key. When I decline and get the slide show back it
has lost the sound. I have installed the Windows 97 Power Point Viewer and
selected it as the default program but the problem remains. I have even gone
to deleting Microsoft Office completely to no avail. How may I remove this
Product Key request so that I may use the 97 viewer on .pps file without
interruption?

You don't "subscribe" to Office, you purchase it. Do I presume from that
that your computer came with a trial version of Office 2007? If so,
uninstall it.

If you uninstall the trial version, that should disappear.

Hi Bob,

Here is a link to viewer 2007. Maybe that will help.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/do...s/default.aspx

You may also have to set the viewer as the default program to open the
files. This will show you how if necessary.

You can purchase a product key

OR

Download and install OpenOffice, the open source (free) office suite.
