ppt file extension

We received a disk from family w/ppt extension. Cannot play. What can we do
to see pictures? Son can open on his PC; however, he brings his copy to our
computer and we cannot open his either.

If you don't have PowerPoint installed, you can download a free PowerPoint
viewer from Mircrosoft.

If it opens on your son's computer - the logical thing would be to see what
application it opens with.

In this case- I know what that opens with (Microsoft PowerPoint.) You can
download a free PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft's web page and install it
on your computer if you wish to be able to view this and other files like
it.

Did the download. I can see the slideshow of the new pages coming across;
however, now we cannot see the slides that were laid out with the slide show.
What to do?

To see the slides laid out you probably need the full Powerpoint program. Ask
your son if he has Powerpoint installed (not just the viewer).
If that is the case, and I'm guessing what you mean here, then you would
need the program and not the viewer to see what you are requesting.

The viewer only allows you to view the pictures. The program lets you see
the "laid out" part.
