Praise
------
- 40 minute installation time (even though Longhorn promised 15 minute
installs)
- Nice bundled applications
- Purble Place is excellent!
- Process prioritization is wonderful (videos are glitch-free, even without
Aero)
- New Tablet PC cursors make pen feel more responsive and accurate
- Previous versions
- Input Panel doesn't stays there until you close it (XP Input Panel feels
clumsy, it keeps disappearing by itself)
- Pen flicks are nice (even though I seldomly use them)
Complain
--------
- Too many versions of Vista
- UI inconsistency (not all use Sergoe UI font, Font dialog box is Win3.1
style, some XP icons still appearing
- It's been 5 years and just 3 new games?
- Start menu not much improved
- Poor integration with Windows Live (conflicting WLM vs WM)
- WinFS and Ink Filenames got cut out from Longhorn (where your ink is the
filename)
- When you type a filename with e.g. ?, Vista does not tell you immediately
that filenames can't have ? in it. XP does this, Vista reverts your typing
after you hit enter and popping up a dialog box.
