I had a similar problem, i don't know exactly how it looked on your pc, but
when I started minesweeper or any other card game, the font width was twice
the size of what it supposed to be, and the colors were also wrong.
I recently found what's causing this, and it was the anti-alias setting for
my Nvidia card.
If you turn off anti-alias it should work fine. If you really want
anti-alias on for other games, but off for these games, you can create a
profile in the Nvidia control panel for Minesweeper etc. with the anti-alias
setting on off.
