Can someone please tell me where
is the (Preconfigured Driver folder)
That would include whatever is
needed to install a Kodak
EasyShare camera Model C182 ?

OS:Windows Vista Home Premium 64

It is a USB portable camera device and should be
creating a drive letter to move
files to and from the camera.

It works fine on XP machines but
not on this Vista 64 Intel multicore
(QUAD) machine.

Driver installation fails while searching
for Preconfigured Folders.
Like it does not exist ?

All other devices except Kodak Easyshare
seems to function.

Their Easyshare Software does nothing
to correct this and KODAK help
will only tell me to try and use
the EasyShare program.

I must be missing important driver files
or have improper ones installed.

Someone with an easyshare camera might help
by posting a comprehensive list of driver
files as listed under the Device manager
for EasyShare cameras.
It will install as a portable device and also
show in the USB ROOT HUB section only
but no drive letter is being created
for transfer of files to and from the camera.

Help is appreciated from someone willing to
do so.

Sometimes disk letters are not assigned automatically.
Does the camera appear in the Disk manager, when connected?

Preconfigured Folders are "well known" locations, like System directory,
drivers directory, user's desktop, users start menu and so on.

Try the microsoft.public.windows.vista.hardware_devices newsgroup.

This NG is for driver developers. If Kodak folks would like some help
fixing their driver, they are welcome here (-_-)

Since you guys are developers you may understand this lingo
which I do not ??

I get this each and every time i try to connect this device.

When i look at Winxp it installs as a PTP generic device
and seems ok. only three driver files.

In win VISTA there are like 6 or 7 files and it dont function.

Thanks for your replies.

Try to download the new driver from the vendor's site.

Or - there are chances that the author is reading this forum and will fix the crash in his driver.
