Preparing to Install... INSTALL ALREADY!

I have a 64 bit vista premium...

Just started up me new laptop and I wanted to install all of the new
updates... But all my computer does is "Preparing to Install..." and the
little green light goes back and forth like its doing something. But its
been over two hours and its still preparing... and there the download
progress is still at 0%.

Please help.

Okay wow, I left the update going, starting at 4:15p, then I just got home at
11:45p and now the updates are going through... Maybe it just needed some
alone time? No problems any more, the updates are being applied.

Thanks every one for those helpful suggestions though, if I had the time
right then, I would have tried them.
