I have a single domain environment and 9 sites.
apparently, 5 days ago, when booting one DC in one site, a 'Preparing
Network Connection" message displayed on the screen and it stayed for long
and the DC didn’t start, 2 days ago, I had the same issue on another DC in
another Site.
Note that I have 2 DCs in the head office running 2003 R2 and subsequently
upgrading other DCs on the 9 Sites from Windows Server 2000 to Windows Server
2003 R2.
Today I have the same issue in a third site!! Apparently its escalating!

So did you check the event logs on the machines? Are those boxes on the
same hardware?

Cheers,
