Hello,

I have automatic updates configured on my winxp professional. So, whenever i
connect to the internet, updates are automatically downloaded and installed.

However, if i happen to re-install my OS from the CD, i lose all updates and
will
have to re-connect to the internet and re-download and re-install whereas just
before the crash, my winxp OS was, in fact already up to date.

So, is there someway to backup the updates into another partition regularly
so
that, after a crash and a OS reinstall from the CD, i can re-install the
updates from
my Harddisk partition where i saved them. If so, which are the files /
registry
entries i need to backup?
What is the procedure?

Iam sure this situation wwould have been faced by many people. Please help.

Thanks

Chandra;
The installed updates can not be saved for later installation.
However you can download the updates from the Windows Update Catalog and
burn to CD, #1 on this link:
