In the Power Option, i have changed "When I press power button" option to
Hibernate. This was advised by an "expert", correct me if he is wrong.

After i have changed this setting, what button I should press (pysically on
the machine or in Vista by using mouse pointer) in order to put the system
in hybernate mode IMMEDIATELY? (just like hybernate button in XP)

The expert told me this can be done in vista.

Press the physical power off button on your computer. Or click Start. Then
click the arrow key at the right at the bottom of the menu, to the right of
the search box and select hibernate. It is really simple.

You can configure the Power button to Hibernate.

You can also download and install a Hibernate utility from
http://officeone.mvps.org/download/power_mgmt.html - it will install a
utility that will hibernate the machine when you click on the executable.

Yes, i have redone the change power option with User Account control and i
press the power bottom of the machine and it works. It hybernate not exactly
like xp because it does not show any message saying that it is going to
hybernate mode.
Im wondering can i select any button/command on screen using mouse pointer
like the xp hibernate button beside shutdown button in vista (im not talking
about machine).

Im wondering also why the expert who has so much experience does not know
the failure is due to User Account control, and also does not know how to
tell what button to press, instead keep saying what funny "physical and
logical button" but do not know how to describe the location of the button
directly. He tot people can read his funny mind. Stright to the point
la....huh.

It is not surprising, because there is no hibernate button inside vista
(like in xp), and who the hack know that the power button of the machine
which is only used for switch on is now used for hibernate in vista?

This tell that there is no Hibernate button in vista, even after we
configure it.
Can only move hand away from mouse and press the machine power button, or
install this utility.

TQ.

How many times do you need this explaining?

1/ Enable hybrid sleep

2/ Set your power buttons (on the case, and in the Start menu) to hybrid
sleep

There is NO POINT in using hibernate any more - Vista's hybrid sleep does
everything XP's hibernate does, plus allowing an even faster boot up if the
computer hasn't actually been unplugged from the power.

FORGET ABOUT HIBERNATE!!!

Hybrid sleep is your friend. It does everything you want, and it can be
activated using the power button on the case or the power button in the
Start menu.

The only time you should use hibernate (rather than hybrid sleep) is if your
machine isn't Vista-compatible - but you take your chances then, anyway.

IMO, Sleep is good if you want to stow away your laptop for short duration.
Sleep basically boils down to Standby with insurance of Hibernate. For
longer durations, the standby nature of sleep drains down the laptop battery
and hence you should go in for hibernation.

For desktops, same reasoning holds since you don't want to waste power.
