Pressing F in classic start menu opens Search, not Favorites

I use the classic start menu in Vista with the Favorites displayed in the
start menu.

Problem:
When I open the start menu and press the "F" key, the entry "Search" is
expanded instead of the entry "Favorites".

Search is also expanded normally when "S" is pressed. In "Favorites" the
letter "F" is underlined and in "Search" the letter "S".

Why does it bother me?
Pressing [Windows key] + F + G is the fastest way to open a bookmark (for
example G for Google Reader). I used this for years in Windows 98 and XP.

I use the german version of Vista. Maybe this is only a problem in the
german version? Can anyone tell me if the problem exists in the english
version?

Thanks for your help.

Using the Englsih Classic Start Menu, F also brings up the Search area
because the initial letter of Files and Folders is underlined.
Hitting the S key however, opens the Settings menu from Start
area.........

Thanks, Jim. That explains where The F comes from.

Small question left:
In the english version, is there still the conflict between the
Search-Files-and-Folders-F and the Favorites-F, or do the Favorites use
another key?

In the English version, favorites is alt-c. You can search out
hotkeys in the help and support section.
