Prevent chat window background color change?

I don't know if this is an extremely new feature or if everyone I chat with
has the same background color, but today for the first time a chat window
opened when a friend messaged me and it did not use the same color as my
default background, but rather the SENDER's color.

DO NOT WANT!!!

I looked through Tools | Options and don't see anything that suggests
"Always use my personal background color for chat windows." Can this be
done? Can I tell Messenger to NEVER use the sender's background colors, only
my own?

Greetings Jeff,

You can do this, however, this feature is a bit hidden.

Right-click in the scene area (the top where the background colour is, their display name,
etc.) and choose 'Use the default scene'.

Unfortunately this is per contact, so you'll need to do it for everyone.

Egad. I never would have right-clicked there. Thanks! It's working, but
you're right: it's too bad this can't be set globally.

Hi Jeff,

In all honesty, I only just found the feature not too long ago myself whilst randomly
clicking.
