Hello,

I am running Vista 64 ultimate, I have office 2007 installed. WHen I
browse a folder with JPGs I just see icons- not previews. I noticed this
when I went to change my background. Any way to correct this? I tried
changing JPGs to open with various programs but I don't see previews.

You might be confusing Explorer with the Windows Picture Viewer. But that
said, if you are using Explorer, you can turn on "Preview":

Hit the Organize button on the toolbar > Layout > Preview Pane

Also, notice you can size and tile the icons etc. etc. which give you
thumbnail rendtions of the pictures.

Working through Word 2007`s "Open", I can get very large thumbnails of
pictures .. although I first had to make sure that I was looking at All
Files and not just Word docs.

I think the OP meant thumbnails rather than previews.

Saucy - synapse is right - I would like thumbnails. I can say though that
even turning one the preview, I only have the default water icon - not a
real preview of what are depicted in any of the pictures.

I have to get use to things not being where they used to be - in the control
panel I needed to go to the folder view - always show icons. I don't mind
them adding the folder options in control panel but why the heck did they
take it away from folder options when you have a folder open?

They haven't. Press ALT when in a folder to get the old menu back.

Simple fix, open the folder and walk away for a few minutes.. It will start
building the "thumbs.db" After you load, it will take a few minutes. But
they will start appearing. :-)
