After installing SP2 and one more update to my father's laptop, it won't boot
and gives me this error;

"Windows Product Activation
A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for
this computer. Error Code 0x800703e7".

Any suggestions what to do next? Thanks a ton.

....Steve

do you have a legal copy of winxp cd?

start/run/cmd, and type the following commands, pressing the ENTER key
on your keyboard after each line:

regsvr32 regwizc.dll
regsvr32 licdll.dll

reboot the system and start your session normally

have you tried reregistering the files suggested in my previous post?

also, this issue can occur if

- - The default security provider in Windows XP has been changed.
- - The system drive letter has changed.

for more information, please check the following Kb article,

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310794

If all suggestion does not work, perhads, the user profile was
corrupted. Try logging on as another user

I recommend post this question on Windows XP newsgroup, this issue isn't
related to windows update....

I can't even get to a logon screen or anything. It just gives me an error and
then when I click OK, it starts to boot again.

I'll post in the XP group. Thanks.
