print spooler missing

2 of our Vista laptops intemittently get a print spooler error and all their
captured printers disappear. Rebooting sometimes helps and I've already
tried checking the LPD/LPR services in Control Panel | Windows Features
referenced in another help document which helped for just a couple days.
Anyone else have any other ideas? Thanks
