print spooler service problem

The print spooler service cause instability on my Vista machine. When
the service is running, the Windows Sidebar doesn't work (no gadget show
up and can't add any). When I try to launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat,
nothing will happen. If I stop the print spooler service, all these
problem will be gone. I was told that I could have some corrupted print
drivers installed and it needed to be deleted. I tried enabling the
print spooler service, but all the printers are not there, and again I
can't add printers and do any printer related tasks.

Anyone has an idea?
