Printer disappears

I have an HP Officejet 7310 on Vista Business. After installing the latest
software from HP everything works fine. After a few days, the printer
disappears both from the printers list and from Imaging devices in the
devices section and so, it cannot be managed any longer by its software
utilities. I believe that this gets worse if I suspend/resume my laptop
instead of shutdown.
