PRINTER INSTALLATION

ANYBODY? I HAVE RECENTLY TRIED TO INSTALL AN HP PHOTOSMART D5360 PRINTER, BUT
WINDOWS WON'T FIND THE DRIVER SOFTWARE. I HAVE GONE TO HP SUPPORT WEBPAGE AND
DOWNLOADED THE DRIVERS BUT IT STILL WON'T FIND THEM. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW
TO FIX THE PROBLEM?

Sorry if this is a silly question , but after you downloaded the drivers did
you install them?

Also would be nice note to post in CAPITALS as this is considered shouting,
for this turn off the Caps lock

PLEASE DON'T SHOUT.

The drivers are typically a bunch of files; HP typically compresses them all
into one big file which you have to run in order to put the individual files
in the right places so Windows can find them.

When you downloaded the Vista drivers, did you follow the rest of the
instructions on the download page? There might have been something like:

At the end of saving the file, run the file or go to the directory where the
file was saved in order to run it. If security warnings are received, they
may be caused by settings in the computer. Continue to run the file.
Note: File is compressed and may take time to expand and run.

yes i unzipped the files and ran them but windows still wont find my driver
software

"Tony..." Did you have a previous HP printer installed?
There are some "difficulties" - most common with three-in-one HP priners -
uninstalling does not remove all references to the old printer.

Go through the installation proceedure, however select "Custom" install vice
"Typical". If on the resulting screen of install options they are checked
off and gray you need to go to HP support site and download the uninstall
utility available for such problems.
