Printer problem

I'm having a problem installing my printer software from updates....even
uninstalled and reinstalled and still my computer does not recognize my
printer....i get the error message that the drivers did not install.....HELP!

It's advisable not to install any device drivers from Microsoft/Windows
Update; go to the printer manufacturer's web site and download the
drivers/software from there.

Not totally corect: if the device is a Microsoft device you can download
from WU
