Printing mail

*I have recently installed a new Canon MP620B color printer to print
mostly correspondence coming and going on Windows Mail, running on a
Vista Home Premium OS. The Canon replaced a HP Photosmart that started
leaking ink.*
**
*My problem is when printing email the far left edge of the copy (type)
does not print. The From: To: Cc: are missing the left half of the F, T
and C letters all the way down the page as well. It's as if the page is
not centered in the print area.*
**
*Under the print preferences I have tried "print to fit" and all the
options to get that left edge to come out. This does not happen on Word
docs however there is a left margin set on those.*
**
*Canon says it a W Mail problem (how convenient). Has anyone else seen
this? Help?*
*Thanks*

It probably is a Mail problem. Try to print with CTL+P or copy/paste the
mail into a word doc.

Your problem could be caused by a printer driver. Did you search for the
latest one?

I would proceed with troubleshooting by printing to a printer of different
brand.

As a workaround, try to direct your print to a 'Microsoft XPS Document
Writer' and try to print from there.

It was worth a shot but the CTL+P sent me to the same print window and
the preview gave me the same deal.
Copy/Paste is an extra step or two and it may come to that. What a
pain.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll Pray for W-7 to fix this!

I don't think Windows 7 will fix this.
I regularly print e-mail messages at work and it works OK on my printer (not
a Canon).
It's either a printer or a printer driver fault. Like I suggested before,
try a diferent brand. Perhaps you can borrow one from your neighbour or a
friend.

You may also try with diferrent driver. I remember, in the past I could use
some generic drivers:
- some Epson model for dot matrix printer
- HP Deskjet for generic Inkjet printer
- HP Laserjet for Generic Laser printer.

I have a Canon MP620. I can print from Windows Mail without any problems.
Vista home premium 64 bit SP2.

Could be you got borderless printing enabled? That will do exactly what
you are experiencing, it "blows up the image" and physically causes
the printer to overprint the edges. This is fine for photos but on text
is much more noticeable.

You could print to a virtual printer. CutePDF is free and it gives you the
option of printing to a PDF file. It looks like a printer, so choose it to
print your document, then view it in Adobe Reader to see if the same
problem exists.

Side benefit: from now on, you can print to PDFs when you don't want to
waste paper.

From your other post in this thread, I see you had the same problem using
Ctrl-P. I wonder if you would have better luck using File | Print so you
could choose which printer to use on a given occasion.
