First, to be clear, the "correct" driver to which you refer is the Vista
compatible driver from the Lexmark site?
Second, when you installed the driver, did you first make sure to uninstall
any previous drivers and software for the printer?
Third, when you installed the Vista drivers, did you start with the printer
disconnected from the computer or was it connected? Most, not all, USB
devices need to be disconnected from the system at the beginning of driver
install. Be sure to check your Lexmark documentation for proper
installation procedures.
If none of the above helps, in addition to waiting for Lexmark's reply, you
might get better help with this issue on the
microsoft.public.windows.vista.print_fax_scan newsgroup.
