I'm a little "gun shy" about what software to use with Visa 64bit.
have run into problems with the Kapersky Anti Virus software, and hav
also had problems with ParetoLogic privacy software.

I now use avast! and it runs perfectly. The avast! software was
fantastic recommendation from this forum. Does anyone have an
recommendations for a browser history/cleaner/sweeper/etc., for Vist
64bit

Thanks

Avast??
funny....my experience is....Avast itself is a spyware...
get urself some antivirus program which is not free....freewares are usually
spywares/adwares on their own...
the previous DivX players are the best examples...

Kaspersky is a real good one...cheap, takes not much CPU, fast, easy...
some of my friends say McAfee is good as well...
but Norton is the worst choice

Yes, I like Avast Free too. My favorite commercial antivirus is NOD32. For a
cleaner, I like the free CCleaner. However, please don't use the registry
cleaner part. It isn't necessary and use of a registry cleaner can cause
major problems. See this thread for why:

Thanks Malke,

I downloaded CCleaner and it is amazingly fast. Don't worry, I won't
touch the registry cleaner. There are too many articles about the
problems it causes.

Once again, this forum is great for me. I appreciate the great advice.

Please refrain from posting in the future, you obviously have no clue what
your talking about.

Not that this helps, but I have found Kaspersky to work quite well on Vista
x64.

Mostly people jumping on someone's bandwagon. See this MS page...

I've used the registry cleaner from CCleaner for years.
