Neither my daughter or I can add each other to WLM Contact List, except for
mobile. The only time I see her is if she signs on & then we can chat. I'm
always on but Appear Offline. She shows only on her mobile phone but I can't
get her to show up any other place. It's the same with her WLM. She has a
Hotmail address. We've tried to add each other by sending an invitation even
before WLM to no avail. I vaguely remember she used to be there until I
added her mobile to MSN Messenger and then her user ID disappeared. This has
been going on for over a year - HELP!!

Hi Cheryl,

This is very normal. If her mobile phone is on and using the same E-mail
Address as her Windows Live Messenger, she will only be online, if she signs
out of mobile or signs in into her Windows Live Messenger program, manually.

You can't be signed into Messenger using the same E-mail Address in both
Windows Live Messenger and Mobile Phone.

To fix the problem, she should create another E-Mail Account and use it
for either one or the other but not both.

It is like having one user in the house and having two working computers
and have Windows Live Messenger running on both computer with the same
E-Mail Address / Account. Both Windows Live Messenger programs can't be
signed in at the same time, using the same E-mail Address.

Tell her to create a new E-mail Address for Mobile Phone.

Thanks sooo much for your prompt reply. Now.... if you would be so kind as
to tell me how to do that, as the problem exists with my mobile address so
she can't see me either, even tho my phone is off alot. It's been so long
since I signed up for mobile messenger, I have forgotten where to go. Then
I can tell her also. I'm a novice at most of this - thanks!

Hi Cheryl,

Sign out of Windows Live Messenger. Click at the bottom of the screen,
click Sign up for a Windows Live ID. After clicking that Internet Explorer
opens up to : http://get.live.com/getlive/overview Click Sign Up. Fill out
the information.

Remember the E-mail Addresses you give must be working E-mail Addresses.
You do not need a Hotmail Address. I don't have a Hotmail Address.

Remember you can have multiple E-mail Addresses. Use Outlook Express or
Windows Mail to download from Pop Accounts.
