problem of adding new contact

Hi, I just got a problem of adding new contact.When I add a new contact, it
does show in my contact list as "offline".However, the contact I added
doesn't receive my request and therefore she/he always appears offline in my
MSN.The new contact can see my status and talk to me.The problem is I don't
see he/she is online.

In the conversation window, it shows "XXX is not in your contact list. Click
here to add him or her now." I click but nothing happens.

I signed in Web Messenger and it shows the new contact is added in my
list.But on Live Messenger, it's totally a different issue.I'm not sure if
this relates to my computer setting or to the status of my account.

I tried to delete the contact and add it again. Same thing happens.

I have been having the same problem. Tried the same things, deleting,
uninstalling and starting over, everything I can think of and nothing changes.
I don't have the problem at all on my laptop so I don't know what the
difference is.
Any help would be great!!!

Me too. I've tried every troubleshooting and nothing works!

Maybe someone from microsoft can help.
:-)
In the meantime i will try other software to see if the problems remains.

Hi, guys

So all of us get the same problem. It's really frustrating and I start
thinking of changing a new MSN account. I'm not sure if this will help.

Is there any staff of Microsoft notice this issue? Hope get answer soon.

I think it's not gonna work. Itried another account here, but it's the same

same here.. if i use another msn program everything works fine though

For ex. which other msn programs?
If you add the new contact in the "other program", then close it and start
Live Messenger, you find the new contact added working?
