Why did you go straight to "System Restore"? And do you mean the Windows
function of "System Restore" or some third-party OEM "restore my computer"
restore?
Next time - maybe even now - uninstall the individual updates that were
installed first - reboot - see if your problem is resolved.
In any case - you have left out one of the more important bits of
information: Operating System you are using.
Start button --> RUN
(no "RUN"? Press the "Windows Key" + R on your keyboard)
--> type in:
winver
--> Click OK.
The picture at the top of the window that opens will give you the general
(Operating System name) while the line starting with the word "version" will
give you the rest of the story. Post _both_ in response to this message
verbatim. ;-)
That matters. One could tell you to go into the "Control Panel" and
find/select "Add or Remove Programs" and when that window comes up, ensure
the "Show Updates" checkbox is checked; however, if you have Windows Vista
or Windows 7 and *not* Windows XP - those instructions will confuse you.
Giving the above information should be done even when posting in a group
with the name of the Operating System it is supposedly centered around in
the title (this one is not - just "Windows Update".)
