Problem with Automatic Updates post SP2

I had to cancel the SP2 online download in mid flight. Subsequently a
magazine provided it on the monthly complimentary disc so I installed it and
everything seems fine including automatic updates being on. However update
installation history indicates that SP2 was cancelled. The problem is that
attempts to access updates now meet with a "sorry" screen and prevent future
updates being accepted.

I guess the problem is rooted somewhere in the aborted download - probably
the SP2 install from the disc has not overwritten the online cancellation.

Would appreciate any thoughts

Mike
