problem booting up

after doing some windows updates - now my computer will
not boot up - it gets to the windows xp start up and then
the computer turns off then turns itself back on gets to
that point then turns off again and it just keeps doing
this and doing this and doing this. Help!

I tried to boot up in safe mode and in command prompt -
no luck it just does the same thing - it gets to a cetain
point and then turns off

MY XP WILL NOT BOOT OR GO INTO WINDOWS IT COUNTS DOWN AS IF ITS GOING TO THEN
STARTS AGAIN ?
