Problem - changed configuration

A few times I have found when starting the computer that it shuts down
after a few seconds and the only way to start up is by using the DVD.
This seems to occur after come component has been changed. It
happened when I added a network card and when I removed a printer. Is
there a known issue with Vista refusing to start?

If it is after every change in hardware, then Safe Mode should get over it.
Have you tried searching the Microsoft Knowledgebase? Or maybe try
reinstalling from DVD and selecting "Refresh System" or whatever the option
is - could be a conflict in the boot sequence.

I have been able to get started again using the dvd and repair option.
I have not tried the knowledgebase because each change has been
different so I don't know what I would be looking for.
