Problem in check for updates

Hello
I have Windows Vista Home Premium.
I noticed accidentally there're updates available for Vista, but not listed
in Windows Update.
Such as: Update KB940105 and KB940199.
I couldn't find them in Windows Update, I just found them accidentally in
Microsoft Site.
So I don't know exactly what updates else available for Vista, I have to
take a long look at Microsoft Site so I can figure them out.

Why didn't Windows Update notify me about them?

Thanks

11 security updates and many other non-security updates (including Vista SP1
Prerequisites) were released on 12 Feb-08. When so many updates are
released, it can take a week or more for these updates to be offered to the
millions of machines needing them. If these updates haven't been offered by
19 Feb-08, please reply to this thread.

PS: The Vista SP1 Prerequisites will be offered in a specific order and not
necessarily all at once. Furthermore, many of them require a reboot before
the next one will be offered. More:

But note that Update KB940105 was released on 8/27/2007, it's old and still
not listed in Windows Update, and I think it's important.

Please ignore my previous and inappropriate reply.

Where in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105 or
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940199 does it say that these updates are
available via Windows Update?

Hello
They aren't listed or available in Windows Update yet.
I found them in Microsoft Site accidentally.
They should be listed and available in Windows Update because they're
updates for Vista
What's wrong?
Thanks

What's wrong is your expectations. Windows Update is working properly and
offering you appropriate updates.

940105 is an Optional update to address a specific problem, one that not all
Vista users may be experiencing. 940199 is a "you have to ask for it"
Hotfix, one that addresses another specific problem that not all Vista users
may be experiencing. Why should both of them be "pushed" to all users via
WU?

That being said, both *may* be among the fixes included in Vista SP1.

PS: We're all volunteers here and no one represents Microsoft (including me
and any other MVP).

So Windows Update doesn't list some optional updates.
OK, how can I get all update released for Vista?
And when will Vista SP1 be released?

A1. Leave Automatic Updates enabled:

A2. A series of Vista SP1 Prerequisite updates started being released a
month ago. More were released yesterday. We expect Vista SP1 to be coming
down the pipes by the end of Mar-08. See http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/
