Problem with display

My diplay has been disabled I have no background, my icons can not be
changed, ect. How do I enable the display on windows vista? Please help.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

If that does not work, try doing a System Restore
