Problem with download of Microsoft.NET

Now I'm not sure what the update is for sure, maybe Passport, but it won't
download. It starts and after a second it stops downloading giving an error
like: ! program generated an execption SL62.twp; process id = 0x82c(2092),
etc. another gobbledegook line.
I followed the suggestion that if you have download trouble to clear out the
Internet Explorer temp files and such.

Delete all the .Net stuff from add remove programs.
Install 1.0
Install 1.0 SP1
Install 1.0 SP2 (if you can)
Then Install 2.0
I only had trouble with the new .Net dowload on 1 pc
its ok now. but running beta 2.0
