First, it is NOT in your best interest to update video drivers from the
Microsoft update site. ALWAYS get them from the video card manufacturer's
web site.
Did you try booting into Safe Mode and removing the video drivers? Or
rolling them back?
There is a BIOS option to turn off the onboard video and select either PCI
or AGP video card.
