Problem during SP2 install

Hello,
Just tried to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 on a different computer.
There was an error message (unknown) and then the computer restarted before
the installation finished. Now the computer is continually restarting but
never gets as far as starting windows before restarting again. There is very
little opportunity in the few seconds between restarts to do anything.

I know I've not explained it very well, but I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Adam

Adam;
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select "Last known good configuration" at the menu.
If that fails, reboot tapping F8 again this time choosing Safe Mode.
Then System Restore to Date/Time before issue started:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Select Date/Time before issue started.

Make sure the computer is ready for SP-2 before installing:

Thanks for your quick reply, unfortunately neither of those solutions worked.
I was able to get to the menu to select "Last known..." and Safe Mode, but
the computer still restarted before Windows started on every occasion. If
it's of any help, I've only had the machine for a week or so, and I've
downloaded and installed several Windows updates through the Automatic
Updater over the last few days. It was all working perfectly before the
failed SP2 update though.

Any other possible solutions?
Thanks,
Adam
