Problem with Emoticons & Display pictures

I cannot view emoticons nor can I save any. I get the message that the bmp's
or jpegs are not a compatible file format. Plus I cannot view any of my
contacts display pictures or use any file for my own display picture.

I'm having trouble finding help online can anyone help me.

seems to be very weird. You could try to re-download and reinstall Windows
Live Messenger, if nothing helps. Maybe your version is corrupt.
