Problem with external 4-bay firewire IDE enclosure

I have a 4-bay external IDE disk enclosure which has been running fin
on an XP machine for years. I've just bought a new machine with Vist
Home Premium SP1 installed, and an OHCI-compliant PCI firewire card. Th
new O/S very rarely sees all 4 drives at the same time, and usually onl
sees one. If I power down and restart the enclosure sometimes Vista wil
see more drives, but sometimes not. The external drive enclosur
contains two disk controllers, which are listed in device manager as SB
Compliant IEEE1394 devices. Can anyone suggest any possible resolution
to this issue

Thanks for the reply. It's a VIA OHCI-compliant card but unfortunately
the Viaarena site doesn't have any available drivers for this type of
card. I've been Googling for alternative driver sources but this hasn't
been successful either.
