the minute I trun on my computer I have a process called GUI.exe running all
the time with 50% of my cpu. I'm using vista ultimate and I ran the windows
update. Any idea what this program is or does?

Not likely, Mary. Search for GUI.EXE and you get an entirely different
answer!

At the end it was my motherboard program (gigabyte) that had a bad install

Well, that would do it also. Glad it turned out to be a smaller problem!

I'm so glad to find someone with the same problem. I've also got a gigabyte mb and running ultimate with the gui.exe glitch. How did you reinstall to fix this? Was it the chipset driver? I wouldn't know how to fix this. Thanks,
~JEmtman
