Recently purchased a new computer with 64 bit Vista. Previous computer was
with 32 bit Vista.
A buddy noticed that this had two version of Internet Explorer. The regular
one showed up first, then we tried the 64 bit version which is a mess.
When I go to my usual sites such as those with DVD and Blu-ray title
announcements I get 2 notices asking if I want to download something. This
NEVER happened until I started the 64 bit version. Now it won't go away and
it is most frustrating.
How can one uninstall this version? I could not find an uninstall section.
Any help would be much appreciated!

this is impossible to do since IE is embebed in windows....
you can delete the files but this will create a mess in windows as the
registry has many entries on IE
what kind of messages are you getting???

A lot of add on's (Adobe Flash Player etc.) do not have 64 bit versions as
of yet. That is why the 32 bit version of IE is included in the 64 bit
versions of windows. Seems the sites you frequent use these type of add
on's. 64 bit versions will come in time. The 32 bit version of IE is set as
the default in 64 bit version of windows for this very reason. I run the 64
bit version from time to time as a lot of the sites I visit don't use flash
etc. If you search google etc. you'll find a good bit of information on this
topic.

The first message is "Windows needs your permission
If you started this action
Internet Explorer Add-on Installer
Microsoft Windows

The second message after I have clicked 'continue' is
Do you want to install
NAME: Adobe Flash player installer'

If I do not click on the continue I cannot go any further!!

Just an example of two sites:
DVD Price Search http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/
Boston Glob http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/

When I first step up the computer and the regular IE was opened, this did
not happen
It was only after opening IE 64 bit edition that this happened.

Thanks for anything that could help.
