Problem with IE6 Installation

I have WinME. Ever time I try to download and install IE6, I get squares
instead of letters (text) on my internet pages. I have to uninstall and it
will go back to normal.
Then if I reinstall it will say that all setup didn't finish and I need to
reboot. I also get the message during install that the vector graphics
rendering (VML) is unable to install. I have tried everything I know to do,
please help!
