Problem installing ActiveSync 4.5

I have been trying to install Activesync 4.5 on my PC (XP, IE6) and get this
error wen the install is completing.

Error. Could not write value CLSID to key \SOFTWARE\Micorsoft\Internet
Explorer\Extensions\{2EAF5BB1-070F-11D3-9307-00C04FEA2E4F}. Verify that you
have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. The
disc must close because an error occurred.

I do have administrator access on the PC.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello!

On the PC having the install trouble, click "start"...goto "run" and type
regedit

In regedit on the left hand side, you'll see "computer" at the top of the
list...click it until it turns blue.

Now goto 'edit' and 'find'

Paste {2EAF5BB1-070F-11D3-9307-00C04FEA2E4F} into the find box and search
for it.

When you see it, right click on {2EAF5BB1-070F-11D3-9307-00C04FEA2E4F} and
goto "permissions"

Make sure administrator has Full Control. If administrator doesnt, click
once on administrator, then put a check mark next to "full control", then
click OK.

Rerun the install...if that doesnt work, write back

Thanks for all your assistance.
I tried your and Linley's suggestions (previoius post) and still haven't had
any success. When I do the search as you suggested the Registry entry is not
found. When I try to add the Registry entry as Linley suggested I get the
error.

Cannot import C:\Documents and Settings\ame.reg: Error accessing the registry.
---------------------------
I did check the permissions. I have administrator permission which has full
access in the Registry. I also added my userid and assigned full access to
it but still no luck. Do you have any other ideas?
