Is a week that i have some problem with windows update.
I have the icon in the tray that tell me that the update are ready for
installing, but when i try to install them (two media player 9 updates)
the installation freeze (no error) and i have to reboot the pc (with
some difficulty, because the system is very very slow!).

I have tried to go to windows update website, but is the same thing. It
tell me that the update are already downloaded and when i try to
install them the computer freeze.

I want to try to redownload these updates, but i don't know how to
proceed. The strange thing is that i have NO WUTEMP directory in any
drive.

How can i solve my problem?

I'm having exactly the same problem with the same operating system. Please
post a solution if you find one. Thanks.

I had the same problem...
untill I deleted all from the C:\WINNT\SoftwareDistribution\Download
directory and then started the download and installed the update -> all was
fine now!

good luck

I have done what You suggest. The update has been downloaded again (so
that's a good point), but the installation fails (hangs forever at
50%).
In a few days i will update to windows xp, so it doesn't matter.
Thanks
