Problem with my DVD burner

Recently I bought a internal DVD burner enclosured in an external case.
In my computer with SP2 I was not able to write any DVD-disk. I can write
CD-disk but no DVD-disk.
I tried the DVD- burner in one laptop similar with mine with SP1 and the DVD
burner works fine.
Can anybody help me with this? Why the DVD works in Windows SP1 and not in
SP2?
