Problem with My MSN

I'm using IE8(+ WindowsXPSP3) and have MSN.com as my home page. When I
press the button to go to MyMSN, the MyMSN page come up but with a
message that says "Your request could not be processed at this time,
please refresh this page or try again later". When I try to add content
to the page(weather, news etc.) it says "done but with errors on page"
and no content is added. I also have Firefox on my computer so I tried
to set up the MyMSN page with the content that I want in Firefox and
found that it works fine there with no error messages. Any ideas on how
to solve this? Thanks!

Thanks for the reference. It appears that no one has solved the problem
yet so I'll live with it for now.

The "problem" isn't on the user's end, Kenneth.

This has been a problem for some time now. It has something to do with your
"hosts" file. Fix the problem by closing all IE pages, temporarily clearing
everything in "hosts" which is located at
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and then go to MyMsn page which should
be correct. Make sure you have a copy of "hosts" folder so once you are in
MyMsn you can copy it back to "hosts". Note: the problem will come back
again but no way to determine exactly when.

Does "Nope" mean it didn't work for you?

Different people have found different solutions, and some still have not.
Hosts file removal did nothing for me. In another thread I did post what the
fix for *my machine* was. YMMV.

<QP>
Scrutinize Add/Remove Programs including updates for Windows PowerShell. It
was offered a few weeks ago in Windows/Microsoft Updates.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv.../download.mspx

I just removed it and rebooted. My MSN is back. Fix, or coincidence? I don't
know and I don't care.

I saw it in the other thread and it didn't help me.

No, "nope" means that the "problem" has nothing to do with your (default)
hosts file.
