Problem with Notebook Optical Mouse 4000

I just bought a MS Notebook Optical Mouse 4000. According to windows-
Vista, everything is installed and works fine. the mouse does not work
at all, though. Any ideas?

Try the mouse on another computer, it may be faulty.
